A smokeless fire pit uses a fuel that burns efficiently and doesn’t release fine particles of ash and debris into the air. Propane, natural gas, and gel fuel all fall into this category. These fire pits are easy to light, and you won’t have to worry about plumes of smoke following you around all night. But they let off less heat than other fire pits, so if it’s cold outside, you’ll want to sit closer. Some wood-burning fire pits are also considered smokeless. These use a special design to keep the flames hot and efficient, significantly reducing the smoke. However, they aren’t 100% smoke-free.
